IAS group was engaged to provide a safe and efficient diverless solution for removing marine growth and other surface contaminants from rail bridge support piles as part of an integrity-critical bridge remediation scope.
The campaign was completed with no interruptions to the live rail traffic above the operations in strong tidal conditions with near zero visibility. Equipment handling was carried out using an IAS Group purpose-built deployment and recovery system.
The project had the following specifications:
Structure | 3 x Rail Bridges |
Diameter of Piles | 1830mm |
Cleaning Pressure | < 20,000 psi |
Application Type | marine growth and surface contamination removal |
Operating Environment | Splash zone - In air and in water, +2 to -12 metres relative to mean water level. |
Surface Preparation | Ultra High Pressure Water Jetting to min. WJ2 (water jetting equivalent of SA 2.5) |
Quantity of Piles | 48 |
